The name Easter is derived from the Spring festival held in honour
of the Goddess of Light known as Oeastra (Astarte or Ishtar). The
Easter celebration feature:
* Easter Bunny - a rabbit that was Oeasta's animal symbol
* Easter Eggs - eggs were dyed and eaten at Spring festivals in
ancient Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome
Easter Bonnet - originally a wreath of flowers, the circlet
expressing the Sun's path in the Heavens
