Bosnia and Herzegovina, sometimes called Bosnia-Herzegovina is a country in Southeastern Europe, located within the Balkan Peninsula. Sarajevo is the capital and largest city. The Bosnian War was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995. Following a number of violent incidents in early 1992, the war is commonly viewed as having started on 6 April 1992. The war ended on 14 December 1995. It is estimated over 101,000 died, mainly Bosnians. This was the first case of genocide in Europe since World War II.
