It was narrated from Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari that the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said:

"Indifference towards this world does not mean forbiddingwhat is permitted, or squandering wealth, rather indifference towardsthis world means not thinking that what you have in your hand is morereliable than what is in Allah's Hand, and it means feeling thatthereward for a calamity that befalls you is greater than that whichthecalamity makes you miss out on.'"

It was narrated that Abu Khallad, who was one of the Companions oftheProphet (Peach be upon him), said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `If yousee a man who has been given indifference with regard to this worldand who speaks little, then draw close to him for he will indeedofferwisdom.'"

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi said:

"A man came to theProphet (Peach be upon him) and said: `O Messenger of Allah, show me a deedwhich,if I do it, Allah will love me and people will love me. the Messengerof Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "Be indifferent towards this world,and Allahwill love you. Be indifferent to what is in people'shands, and theywill love you."

It was narrated from Abu Wa'il that a man from his people - SamurahbinSahm - said:

"We stopped with Abu Hashim bin `Utbah, who hadbeenstabbed, and Mu'awiyah came to visit him. Abu Hashim wept andMu'awiyah said to him: `Why are you weeping, O maternal uncle? Isthere some pain bothering you, or is it because of this world, thebest of which has already passed?' He said: `It is not for any ofthese reasons. But the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) gave me some adviceand I wish that I had followed it. He (Peach be upon him) said: "There may come atime when you will see wealth divided among the people, and all youwill need of that is a servant and a mount to ride in the cause ofAllah." That time came, but I accumulated wealth.'"

It was narrated from Thabit that Anas said:

"Salman felt sick andSa'dcame to visit him, and when he saw him he wept. Sa'd said to him:`Why are you weeping, my brother? Are you not a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)? Are you not? Are you not?' Salman said:`Iam only weeping for one reason: I am not weeping because oflongingfor this world or for dislike of the Hereafter. But the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) gave me some advice and I think that I havetransgressed.'He said: `What was his advice to you?' He said:`He advised me thatsomething like the provision of a rider issufficient for anyone ofyou, and I think that I have transgressedthat. As for you, O Sa'd,fear Allah when you pass a verdict, andwhen you distribute (spoils ofwar), and when you decide to doanything.'"

`Abdur-Rahman bin Aban bin `Uthman bin `Affan narrated that hisfather said:

"Zaid bin Thabit departed from Marwan at mid-day. Isaid:`He has not sent him out at this time of the day except forsomethinghe asked.' So I asked him, and he said: `He asked meabout some thingswe heard from the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) say:"Whoever is focusedonly on this world, Allah will confound hisaffairs and make him fearpoverty constantly, and he will not getanything of this world exceptthat which has been decreed for him.Whoever is focused on theHereafter, Allah will settle his affairsfor him and make him feelcontent with his lost, and his provisionand worldly gains willundoubtedly come to him."

`Abdullah said:

"I heard your Prophet (Peach be upon him) say: `Whoeverfocuses allhis concerns on one thing, the Hereafter, Allah willrelieve him orworldly concerns, but whoever has disparate concernsscattered among anumber of worldly issues, Allah will not care inwhich of its valleyshe died.'"

(Abu)Khalid Al-Walibi narrated from Abu Hurairah and he (one of thenarrators) said:

"I do not know except that he attributed it to theProphet (Peach be upon him)" - "Allah says: `O son of Adam, devote yourselfto Myworship, and I will fill your heart with contentment and takecare ofyour poverty; but if you do not do that, then I will fillyour heartwith worldly concerns and will not take care of yourpoverty.'"

Mustawrid, a brother of Banu Fihr, said:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) say: `The likeness of this world in comparison to theHereafter is that of anyone of you dipping his finger into the sea:let him see what he brings forth.'"

It was narrated that `Abdullah said:

"The Prophet (Peach be upon him) lay down on areed mat, and it left marks on his skin. I said: `May my father andmother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah! If you had told uswe would have provided you with something that would save you thistrouble.' The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `What is therebetweenmyself and the world? This world and I are just like a riderwho stopsto rest beneath the shade of a tree then goes and leavesit.'"

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd said:

"We were with the MessengerofAllah (Peach be upon him) in Dhul-Hulaifah, when we saw a dead sheep lifting itsleg (because of bloating). He said: `Don't you think this isworthlessto its owner? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, thisworld is moreworthless to Allah than this (dead sheep) is to itsowner. If thisworld was worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, thedisbeliever wouldnot have a drop to drink from it.'"

Mustawrid bin Shaddad said:

"I was riding with the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) when he came across a dead lamb that had been thrownout.' Hesaid: `Don't you think that this is worthless to itsowners?' It wassaid: `O Messenger of Allah, it is because it isworthless that theyhave thrown it out, - or words to that effect. Hesaid: `By the One inWhose Hand is my soul, this world is moreworthless to Allah than thisis to its owners.'"

AbuHurairah said:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) saying:`Thisworld is cursed and what is in it is cursed, except theremembranceof Allah (dhikr) and what is conducive to that, or one whohasknowledge or who acquires knowledge.'"

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"This world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for thedisbeliever.'"

It was narrated that Ibn `Umar said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)tookhold of some part of my body and said: `O `Abdullah, be in thisworld like a stranger, or one who is passing through, and consideryourself as one of the people of the graves.'"

It was narrated from Mu'adh bin Jabal that the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said:

"Shall I not tell you about the kings of Paradise?' Isaid:`Yes.' He said: `A weak and oppressed man who wears tatteredclothes and is not paid any heed. If he swears (an oath) by Allah,Allah fulfills it.'"

Harithahbin Wahb narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Shall Inot tell you about the people of Paradise? Every weak andoppressedone. Shall I not tell you about the people of Hell? Everyharsh,haughty and arrogant one."

It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Theone who most deserved to be envied, un my view, is the onewho hasthe least burden, who prays a great deal and finds joy inprayer, andwho is unknown among people and is not paid any heed. Hisprovisionwill be sufficient, he will be content with it, his deathwill comequickly, his estate will be small and his mourners will befew."

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin Abi Umamah Al-Harithi that hisfathersaid:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `Simplicity is partoffaith.'"

It was narrated from Asma' bint Yazid that she heard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) say:

"Shall I not tell you of the best of you?" Theysaid:"Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The best of youare those who,when they are seen, Allah the Mighty, the Majestic, isremembered."

It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi said:

"A man passed bythe Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) and the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said: `What doyousay about this man?' They said: `We agree with your opinionconcerninghim. We say: He is one of the noblest of people. If heproposesmarriage, his proposal deserves to be accepted; and if heintercedes,his intercession deserves to be accepted; and if hespeaks, hedeserves to be listened to.' The Prophet (Peach be upon him) remainedsilent, andanother man passed by. The Prophet (Peach be upon him) said: `What doyou thinkabout this man?' We said: `By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, this is oneof the poor Muslims. If he proposes marriage, hedoes not deserve toget married; and if he intercedes, hisintercession does not deserveto be accepted; and if he speaks, hedoes not deserve to be listenedto.' The Prophet (Peach be upon him) said: `Thisone is better than an earthful of(men like) the other man.'"

It was narrated from `Imran bin Husain that the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said:

"Allah loves His believing slave who is poor, does not begand has many children."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"The poor believers will enter Paradise half a day - fivehundredyears - before the rich.'"

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said:

"The poor Muhajirun will enter Paradise before therich,the equivalent of five hundred years."

It was narrated that `Abdullah bin `Umar said:

"The poor Muhajiruncomplained to the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) about that with whichAllahhad favored the rich over them. He said: `O poor people,shall I notgive you the glad tidings that the poor believers willenter Paradisehalf a day, five hundred years, before the rich?'"

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:

"Ja'far bin Abu Talib used tolike the poor; he would sit with them and talk to them, and theywouldtalk to him. And the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) gave him theKunyah ofAbul-Masakin (Father of the Poor)."

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said:

"Love the poor, for Iheard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) say in his supplication: `OAllah,cause me to live poor and cause me to die poor, and gather meamongthe poor (on the Day of Resurrection).'"

It was narrated from Khabbab, concerning the Verse:

"And turn notawaythose who invoke their Lord, morning and afternoon..." up to Hissaying: "...and thus become of the unjust." [6:52] He said:"Aqra' binHabis At-Tamimi and `Uyainah bin Hisn Al-Fazri cameand found the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) with Suhaib, Bilal, `Ammarand Khabbab,sitting with some of the believers who were weak (i.e.,socially).When they saw them around the Prophet (Peach be upon him) they lookeddown on them.They took him aside and said: `We want you to sitwith us along, sothat the `Arabs will recognize our superiority.If the delegations ofthe Arabs come to you we will feel ashamed ifthe Arabs see us withthese slaves. So, when we come to you, makethem get up from yourpresence, then when we have finished, sit withthem if you wish.' Hesaid: `Yes.' They said: `Write adocument for us (binding you tothat).' So he called for a piece ofpaper and he called `Ali to write,and we were sitting in a corner.Then Jibra'il (as), came down andsaid: "And turn not away thosewho invoke their Lord, morning andafternoon seeking His Face. Youare accountable for them in nothing,and they are accountable for youin nothing, that you may turn themaway, and thus become of theunjust." [6:52] Then he mentioned Aqra'bin Habis and `Uyaynahbin Hisn, then he said: "Thus We have triedsome of them withothers, that they might say: `Is it these (poorbelievers) whomAllah has favored from amongst us?' Does not Allahknow best thosewho are grateful." [6:53] Then he said: "When thosewho believein Our Ayat come to you, say: Salamun `Alaykum (peace beon you);your Lord has written (prescribed) mercy for Himself"."[6:54] Hesaid: "Then we got so close to him that our knees weretouchinghis, and the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) was sitting with us.When hewanted to get up, he stood up and left us. Then Allahrevealed: "Andkeep yourself patiently with those who call on theirLord morning andafternoon, seeking His Face; and let not your eyesoverlook them,"- and do not sit with the nobles - "desiring the pompandglitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart Wehave made heedless of Our remembrance," - meaning `Uyainah andAqra' -"and who follows his own lusts, and those affair(deeds) has beenlost" [18:28] He said: `May they be doomed.'He said: `May `Uyainahand Aqra' be doomed.' Then he made theparable for them of two men andthe parable of this world. Khabbabsaid: "We used to sit with theProphet (Peach be upon him) and if the time camefor him to leave, we would get upand leave him, then he wouldleave."

It was narrated that Sa'd said:

"This Verse was revealed concerningussix: Myself, Ibn Mas'ud, Suhaib, `Ammar, Miqdad and Bilal. TheQuraish said to the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him): `We do not want tojointhem, send them away.' Thoughts of that entered the heart ofthe Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) as much as Allah willed, then Allahrevealed:"And turn not away those who invoke their Lord, morningand afternoonseeking His Face. You are accountable for them innothing, and theyare accountable for you in nothing, that you mayturn them away, andthus become of the unjust." [6:52]

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said:

"Woe to the most wealthy except those who do such andsuchwith the money, and such and such" - four things, (pointing)to hisright, to his left, in front of him and behind him.

It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Thewealthiest will be the lowest on the Day of Resurrection,exceptthose who do such and such with their money, and earn it fromgoodsources."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"The wealthiest will be the lowest, except one who does such andsuch,' three things."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"Iwouldnot like to have (the equivalent of) Uhud in gold, then a thirdnightcomes to me and I have anything of it left, except somethingthat Iset aside to pay off a debt."

It was narrated from `Amr bin Ghailan Ath-Thaqafi that the MessengerofAllah (Peach be upon him) said:

"O Allah, whoever believes in my and knows thatwhat I have brought is the truth from You, decrease his wealth andhischildren, and make the meeting with You dear to him, and hastenhisdeath. Whoever does not believe in me and does not know that whatIhave brought is the truth from You, increase his wealth and hischildren and make his life long.'"

It was narrated that Nuqadah Al-Asadi said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)sent me to a man whom he was talking to lend him a she-camel (formilking) and to be returned, but he refused. Then he sent me toanother man, who sent a she-camel to him. When the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) saw it, he said: `O Allah, bless it and bless the one whosent it.'"Nuqadah said: "I said to the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him): 'And for the one who brought it.' He said: 'And (bless) the one who brought it.' Then he ordered that it should be milked and it yielded plenty of milk. The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: 'O Allah, increase the wealth of so-and-so,' meaning the first one who did not give a camel; 'and give so-and-so provision day by day,' meaning the one who had sent the she-camel."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Wretched is the slave of the Dinar and the slave of the Dirham,and the slave of velvet and the slave of the Khamisah.* If he isgiven, he is pleased and if he is not given, he does not fulfill (hisoath of allegiance)."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"Wretchedis the slave of the Dinar, the slave of the Dirham and theslave ofthe Khamisah. He is wretched and will be thrown (into Hell)on hisface, and if he is pricked with a thorn may find no relief."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Richness is not an abundance of worldly goods, rather richnessiscontentment with one's lot."

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin `Amr bin `As that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"He has succeeded who is guided to Islam and isgranted sufficient provision and is content with it."

"OAllah, make the provision of the family of Muhammadsufficient forthem."

It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Thereis no rich man or poor man but he will wish on the Day of Resurrection that he had been given the bare minimum of provision."

It was narrated from Salamah bin `Ubaidullah bin Mihsan Al-Ansarithat hisfather said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `Whoeveramongyou wakes up physically healthy, feeling safe and secure withinhimself, with food for the day, it is as if he acquired the wholeworld.'"

AbuHurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"Lookatthose who are beneath you and do not look at those who are aboveyou,for it is more suitable that you should not consider as less theblessing of Allah."

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah, who attributed it to the Prophet(Peach be upon him),said:

"Allah does not look at your forms or your wealth, ratherHelooks at your deeds and your hearts."

"We, the family of Muhammad (Peach be upon him),would stay for a month during which no fire would be lit (forcooking)and we had only dates and water."

It was narrated from Abu Salamah that `Aishah said:

"There would come amonth when no smoke was seen in any of the households of the familyof Muhammad (Peach be upon him).I said: "What did you eat?" She said: "The two black ones - dates and water." But we had neighbors among the Ansar, sincere neighbors, who had domestic sheep, and they used to send some of their milk to us. (One of the narrators) Muhammad said: "And they were nine households."

It was narrated that Nu'man bin Bashir said:

"I heard `Umar binKhattab say: `I saw the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) writhing withhungerduring the day, and he could not even find the worst of dateswithwhich to fill his stomach.'"

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) say several times: `By the One in Whose Hand is the soulofMuhammad, the family of Muhammad does not have a Sa' of food grainsor a Sa' of dates.' And at that time he had nine wives."

It was narrated from Abu `Ubaidah that `Abdullah said:

"The Messengerof Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `The family of Muhammad has only a Mudd offood,'or `The family of Muhammad does not have even a Mud offood.'"

It was narrated that Sulaiman bin Surad said:

"The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) came to us and we stayed for three nights without havinganything to eat."

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:

"One day some hot food wasbroughtto the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him), and he ate. Then when he hadfinished he said: `Praise is to Allah, no hot food has entered mystomach since such and such a time.'"

It was narrated that `Aishah said:

"The bed of the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) was made of leather, stuffed with fibers of date-palm trees."

It was narrated from `Ata' bin Sa'ib from his father, from `Ali thatthe Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) came to `Ali and Fatimah, when theywerecovered with a Khamil belonging to them. And a Khamil is a whitevelvet made of wool. The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) had given this tothem as a wedding gift, along with a pillow stuffed with Idhkhir* anda water skin.

`Umarbin Khattab said:

"I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)whenhe was (sitting) on a reed mat. I sat down and (saw that) he waswearing a waist wrap, and there was no other barrier between him andthe mat but his waist wrap, and the reed mat had made marks on hisside. And I saw a handful of barley, nearly a Sa', and some acacialeaves, in a corner of the room, and a skin hanging up. My eyesflowedwith tears, and he said: `Why are you weeping, O son ofKhattab?' Isaid: `O Prophet of Allah, why should I not weep?This mat has mademarks on your side, and this is all you haveaccumulated, I cannot seeanything other than what I see (here),while Chosroes and Caesar liveamong fruits and rivers. You are theProphet of Allah and His ChosenOne, and this is what you haveaccumulated.' He said: `O son ofKhattab, does it not please you(to know) that (these things) are forus in the Hereafter and forthem in this world?' He said: `Yes.'"

It was narrated that `Ali said:

"The daughter of the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) was permitted to me as a bride, and our bed on the nightwhenshe was presented to me, was no more than the hide of a ram."

It was narrated that Abu Mas'ud said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) usedto enjoin charity, then one of us would go out and carry goods forothers until he earned a Mudd, but one of them nowadays has onehundred thousand (Dinar or Dirham)."Shaqiq said: "It was as if he was hinting that this was he himself."

It was narrated that Ibn `Umar said:

"Utbah bin Ghazwan delivered asermon on the pulpit and said: `I saw myself the seventh of sevenwiththe Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him), and we did not have any food toeatexcept the leaves of trees, until our gums hurt.'"

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that they suffered from hunger andtheywere seven. He said:

"Then the Prophet (Peach be upon him) gave me seven dates,one date for each man."

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin Zubair bin `Awwam that his fathersaid:

"When the following was reveled: "Then on that Day youshall beasked about the delights (you indulged in, in this world)![102:8]Zubair said: `What delights shall we be asked about? It isonly thetwo black ones, dates and water.' He said: `It is goingto happen.'"

It was narrated that Jabir bin `Abdullah said:

"The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) sent us, (we were) three hundred men, carrying our provisions on ournecks. Our provisions ran out until there would be for (every) manamong us one date (a day)." Then it was said: "O Abu `Abdullah,howcan one date satisfy a man?" He said: "When we no longer hadit, werealized how much it was worth. Then we came to the sea andfound awhale that had been thrown up by the sea, and we ate from itforeighteen days."

It was narrated that `Abdullah bin `Amr said:

"The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) passed by us when we were fixing a hut of ours, and said: `Whatis this?' I said: `It is a hut of ours that has fallen intodisrepair.' The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `The matter (ofdeath)may come sooner than that.'"

It was narrated that Anas said:

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) passedby adome-shaped structure at the door of a man among the Ansar andsaid:`What is this? `They said: `A dome that was built byso-and-so.'The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: `All wealth thatis like this(extravagant) will bring evil consequences to its owneron the Day of Resurrection.' News of that reached the Ansari, so hedemolished it.Then the Prophet (Peach be upon him) passed by (that place) later onand did not seeit. He asked about it and was told that its owner haddemolished itbecause of what he had heard from him. He said: `MayAllah have mercyon him, may Allah have mercy on him.'"

It was narrated that Ibn `Umar said:

"I had built a house to sheltermefrom the rain and the sun, during the time of Allah's Messenger(Peach be upon him), and no creature of Allah helped me in building it."

It was narrated that Harithah bin Mudarrib said:

"We came to Khabbabtovisit him (when he was sick), and he said: `I have been sick for along time, and were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)say: "Do not wish for death," I would have wished for it.' Andhesaid: "A person will be rewarded for all his spending, exceptfor(what he spends) on dust," or he said, "on building."

`Umarsaid:

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) say: `If you weretorely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be givenprovision like the birds: They go out hungry in the morning and comeback with full bellies in the evening."

It was narrated that Habbah and Sawa', the two daughters of Khalid,said:

"We entered upon the Prophet (Peach be upon him) when he was doing something,sowe helped him with it. Then he said: `Do not despair of provisionso long as your heads are still moving, for a person's mother bearshim red with raw skin, then Allah provides for him.'"

It was narrated from `Amr bin `As that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"The heart of the son of Adam has an inclination towardseverydesirable thing, so whoever follows all of those inclinations,Allahwill not care which one will cause his doom. And whoever reliesuponAllah, Allah will protect him from the pain of scatteredinclinations."

The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said: `They will be equal in reward. And a man to whom Allahgives wealth but does not give knowledge, so he squanders his wealthand spends it in inappropriate ways; and a man to whom Allah givesneither knowledge nor wealth, and he says: "If I had (wealth) likethis one, I would do what (the third man) did." The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) said: `They are equal in their burden (of sin).'"

OHanzalah,there is a time for this and a time for that."

It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that a man came to the Prophet (Peach be upon him)andsaid that he had kissed a woman, and he started to ask aboutexpiation, but he (the Prophet (Peach be upon him)) did not say anything to him.Then Allah revealed the Verse:

"And perform prayers at the two endsofthe day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deedsremovethe evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful."[11:114] The mansaid: "O Messenger of Allah, is this (the Verse)just for me?" Hesaid: "It is for whoever acts upon it among mynation."

"Aman went to extremes in committing sins. When death came tohim, heleft instructions to his sons, saying: `When I die, burn me,thengrind me into powder, then scatter me in the wind and in the sea,forby Allah, if my Lord has power over me, He will subject me to apunishment that He has never subjected anyone to.' So they did thattohim, then (Allah) said to the earth: `Return what you havetaken,' andthere he was, standing. He said to him: `What madeyou do what youhave done?' He said: `Fear of You, O Lord.' SoHe forgave him becauseof that (fear)."

"Awoman entered Hell because of a cat which she tied up and didnotfeed, or let it loose to eat of the vermin of the earth, until itdied."

"Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: `O My slaves, all of youaresinners except those whom I have saved. So ask Me for forgiveness,Iwill forgive you. Whoever among you knows that I have the power toforgive and asks Me to forgive by My power, I will forgive him. Allofyou are astray except those whom I guide. Ask Me for guidance andIwill guide you. All of you are poor except those whom I enrich(makeindependent of means). Ask of Me and I will grant youprovision. Evenif your living and your dead, your first and yourlast, your fresh andyour dry, were all as pious as the most piousamong My slaves, thatwould not increase my dominion as much as agnat's wing, and if theywere to be as evil as the most evil amongMy slaves, that would notdetract from My dominion as much as agnat's wing. Even if your livingand your dead, your first and yourlast, your fresh and your dry, wereto join together and each of themwere to ask for all that he wishesfor, that would only detract fromMy dominion as much as if one of youwere to pass by the edge of thesea and dip a needle in it andwithdraw it. That is because I am theMost Generous, Majestic. I givewith a word; when I will something,all I do is say to it "Be!" - andit is.'"

"I was with the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) and a man from among the Ansar came to him and greeted theProphet (Peach be upon him) with Salam. Then he said: `O Messenger of Allah,whichof the believers is best?' He said: `He who has the bestmanners amongthem.' He said: `Which of them is wisest?' Hesaid: `The one whoremembers death the most and is best inpreparing for it. Those arethe wisest.'"

"The wise man is the one who takes account ofhimselfand strives for that which is after death. And the helplessman isthe one who follows his own whims then indulges in wishfulthinkingabout Allah."

It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) entered upon a youngmanwho was dying and said:

"How do you feel?" He said: "I havehopein Allah, O Messenger of Allah, but I fear my sins." the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "These two things (hope and fear) donot coexist inthe heart of a person in a situation like this, butAllah will givehim that which he hopes for and keep him safe fromthat which hefears."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"Angelscome to the dying person, and if the man was righteous, theysay:`Come out, O good soul that was in a good body, come outpraiseworthy and receive glad tidings of mercy and fragrance and aLord Who is not angry.' And this is repeated until it comes out,thenit is taken up to heaven, and it is opened for it, and it isasked:`Who is this?' They say: `So-and-so.' It is said:`Welcome to the goodsoul that was in a good body. Enterpraiseworthy and receive the gladtidings of mercy and fragrance anda Lord Who is not angry.' And thisis repeated until it is broughtto the heaven above which is Allah.But if the man was evil, theysay: `Come out O evil soul that was inan evil body. Come outblameworthy, and receive the tidings of boilingwater and thedischarge of dirty wounds,' and other torments ofsimilar kind, alltogether. And this is repeated until it comes out,then it is takenup to heaven and it is not opened for it. And it isasked: `Who isthis?' It is said: `So-and-so.' And it is said: `Nowelcometo the evil soul that was in an evil body. Go backblameworthy, forthe gates of heaven will not be opened to you.' So itis sent backdown from heaven, then it goes to the grave."

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin Mas'ud that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"If the appointed time of death of anyone of you is in a certainland, some need will cause him to go there, then when he reaches thefurthest point that it is decreed he will reach, Allah takes (hissoul). And on the Day of Resurrection the earth will say: `My Lord,this is what You entrusted to me.'"

"Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him, and whoeverhates to meet Allah, Allah hates to meet him." It was said to him:"OMessenger of Allah, does hating to meet Allah mean hating tomeetdeath? For all of us hate death." He said: "No. Rather thatis only atthe moment of death. But if he is given the glad tidingsof the mercyand forgiveness of Allah, he loves to meet Allah andAllah loves tomeet him; and if he is given the tidings of thepunishment of Allah,he hates to meet Allah and Allah hates to meethim."

"When `Uthman bin `Affan stood beside a grave, he wouldweepuntil his beard became wet. It was said to him: `You rememberParadiseand Hell, and you do not weep, but you weep for this?' Hesaid: `the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "The grave is the firststage of theHereafter. Whoever is delivered from it, what comesafter it iseasier. If he is not delivered from it, then what comesafter it isharder.'" He said that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "I havenever seen any horrible scene but the grave is morehorrible."

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"Thedeadperson ends up in his grave, then the righteous man is made tosit upin his grave with no fear or panic. Then it is said to him:`Whatreligion did you follow?' He said: `I was in Islam.' It is saidto him: `Who is this man?' He says: `Muhammad the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him). He brought us clear signs from Allah and we believedhim.' Itis said to him: `Have you seen Allah?' He says: `Noone is able to seeAllah.' Then a window to Hell is opened for him,and he sees it, partsof it destroying others. Then it is said tohim: `Look at what Allahhas saved you from.' Then a window toParadise is opened to him, andhe looks at its beauty and what is init. It is said to him: `This isyour place.' And it is said tohim: `You had certain faith and youdied in that state, and in thatstate you will be resurrected if Allahwills.' And the evil man ismade to sit up in his grave with fear andpanic. It is said to him:`What religion did you follow?' He says: `Ido not know.' Itis said to him: `Who is this man?' He says: `I heardthe peoplesaying something and I said it too.' Then a window toParadise isopened to him, and he looks at its beauty and what is init. It issaid to him: `Look at what Allah has diverted away fromyou.'Then a window to Hell is opened for him, and he sees it, partsof itdestroying others, and it is said to him: `This is your place.Youwere doubtful; in this state you died and in this state you willberesurrected, if Allah wills.'"

It was narrated from Bara' bin `Azib that the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:

"Allahwill keep firm those who believe, with the word that standsfirm."[14:27] This has been revealed concerning the torment of thegrave.It will be said to him: `Who is your Lord?' He will say: `MyLord is Allah, and my Prophet is Muhammad.' This is what Allahsays:Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word thatstands firmin this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping AllahAlone and noneelse), and in the Hereafter (i.e., at the time ofquestioning in thegrave).'" [14:27]

"Whenanyoneof you dies, he is shown his place morning and evening. If heis oneof the people of Paradise, then he will be shown his seat inParadise, and if he is one of the people of Hell, then he will beshown his seat in Hell. And it is said: `This is your place untilyouare raised on the Day of Resurrection.'"

"A Jewish man said in themarketplace of Al-Madinah: `By the One Who chose Musa above all ofmankind.' An Ansari man raised his hand and slapped him. He said:`Howdare you say this when the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) is amongus?'Mention of that was made to the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him), andhe said:`Allah says: "And the trumpet will be blown, and all whoare in theheavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away,except him whomAllah wills. Then it will be blown a second time, andbehold they willbe standing, looking on (waiting)." [39:68] I willbe the first one toraise his head, and I will see Musa holding on toone of the pillarsof the Throne, and I do not know whether he willhave raised his headbefore me, or he will be one of those whom Allahexempts. And whoeversays that I am better than Yunus bin Matta, heis lying."

"I heard the Messengerof Allah (Peach be upon him) say on the pulpit: `The Compeller (Al-Jabbar) willseize His heavens and His earths in His Hand' - and he clenchedhishand and started to open and close it - `Then He will say: "Iam theCompeller, I am the King. Where are the tyrants? Where are thearrogant?" And the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) was leaning to hisrightand his left, until I could see the pulpit shaking at thebottom, andI thought that it would fall along with the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)."

`Aishah said: "I said: `O Messengerof Allah, how will the people be gathered on the Day of Resurrection?'He said: `Barefoot and naked.' I said: `Andthe women?' He said: `Andthe women.' I said: `O Messenger of Allah, will we not feelembarrassed?' He said: `O `Aishah, thematter will be too serious forthem to look at one another.'"

"The people will be presented (before Allah) three timesonthe Day of Resurrection. The first two times will be for disputesandexcuses, and the third time will be when the scrolls (of deeds)flyinto their hands; some will take it in the right hand and some intheleft."

"I hope that noone of those who witnessed (the battle of) Badr and (Treaty)Hudaybiyah will enter Hell, if Allah wills." I said: "O Messengerof Allah, doesn't Allah say "There is not one of you but willpass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord, a decree which must beaccomplished?" [19:71] He said: "Have you not heard that He says:`Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful toHim. And We shall leave the wrongdoers therein (humbled) to theirknees (in Hell)?'" [19:72]

"We were with the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) in a tent, and he said: `Will it not please you to beonequarter of the people of Paradise?' We said: `Yes.' Hesaid: `Will itnot please you to be one third of the people ofParadise?' We said:`Yes.' He said: `By the One in Whose Handis my soul, I hope that youwill be half of the people of Paradise.For no one will enter Paradisebut a Muslim soul, and among thepeople of polytheism you are like awhite hair on the hide of a blackbull, or like a black hair on thehide of a red bull.'"

"AProphet will come accompanied by two men, and a Prophet willcomeaccompanied by three, and (some will come) with more or less thanthat. It will be said to him: `Did you convey the message to yourpeople?' And he will say: `Yes.' Then his people will be calledand itwill be said: `Did he convey the message to you?' Theywill say: `No.'Then it will be said: `Who will bear witnessfor you?' He will say:`Muhammad and his nation.' So the nationof Muhammad will be calledand it will be said: `Did this manconvey the message?' They will say:`Yes.' He will say: `Howdid you know that?' They will say: `OurProphet told us that the Messengers had conveyed the message, and webelieved him.' This iswhat Allah says: "Thus We have made you, a just(and the best)nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger(Muhammad (Peach be upon him)) be a witness over you.'" [2:143]

"We came back (from acampaign) with the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) and he said: `By theOnein Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no person whobelievesthen stands firm, but he will be caused to enter Paradise. Ihope thatthey will not enter it until you and those who arerighteous amongyour offspring will enter it and take up yourdwelling places therein.And my Lord has promised me that seventythousand of my nation willenter Paradise without being brought toaccount.'"

"The MessengerofAllah (Peach be upon him) said: `When Allah gathers all creatures on the Day of Resurrection, permission will be given to the nation of Muhammad toprostrate, so they will prostrate to Him for a long time. Then itwillbe said: "Raise your heads, for a certain number of you willgo toHell-fire and these will be your ransom from Hell."*

"This nation has been granted mercy (in the Hereafter) and itstorment (in this world) is at the hands of one another. When the Dayof Resurrection comes, each Muslim man will be given a man from amongthe idolaters and it will be said: `This is your ransom from theFire.'"

"Allahhasone hundred (degrees of) mercy, of which He has shared one betweenall of creation, by virtue of which you show mercy and compassiontowards one another and the wild animals show compassion towardstheiryoung. And He has kept back ninety-nine (degrees of) mercy byvirtueof which He will show mercy to His slaves on the Day of Resurrection."

"On the day when He created the heavens and the earth, Allahcreated one hundred (degrees of) mercy, of which He placed one onearth, by virtue of which mothers show compassion to their childrenand animals as well as the birds show compassion to one another. AndHe kept back ninety-nine (degrees of) mercy. When the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah will complete this mercy."

"When Allah created the universe, He decreed for Himself: `Mymercy prevails over My wrath.'"

"The Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him) passed by me when I was riding a donkey, and said: `O Mu'adh,doyou know what Allah's right over His slaves is and what Hisslaves'right over Allah is?' I said: `Allah and His Messengerknow best.' Hesaid: `The right of Allah over His slaves is thatthey should worshipHim and not associate anything with Him. And theright of the slavesover Allah, if they do that, is that He shouldnot punish them.'"

"We were with the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) on one of his campaigns. He passed by some people andsaid: `Who are these people?' They said: `We are Muslims.'There was awoman putting wood in her oven, and a son of hers waswith her. Whenthe flames got higher, she moved him away. She came tothe Prophet(Peach be upon him) and said: `Are you the Messenger of Allah?' Hesaid: `Yes.' Shesaid: `May my father and mother be ransomedfor you. Is not Allah theMost Merciful of those who show mercy?'He said: `Yes indeed.' Shesaid: `Is not Allah more Mercifulthan a mother to her child?' Hesaid: `Yes indeed.' She said:`A mother would not throw her child intothe fire.' The Messengerof Allah (Peach be upon him) lowered his head and wept.Then he looked up at herand said: `Allah does not punish any of Hisslaves except those whoare defiant and rebellious, who rebel againstAllah and refuse tosay: La ilaha illallah.'"

"The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "No one will enter Hell except one who is doomed." It wassaid:"O Messenger of Allah, who is the one who is doomed?" Hesaid: "Theone who never does any act of obedience (towards Allah)and who neveromitted any act of sin."

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)recited this Verse:

"He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankindshould be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should nottakeany Ilah (god) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives(sins)."[74:56] Then he said: "Allah says: `I am the One Whodeserves to befeared, so no other god should be appointed alongsideMe. Whoeveravoids appointing another god alongside Me, I am the OneWho shouldforgive him."

`Abdullah bin `Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said:

"A man from my nation will be called before all of creationon the Dayof Resurrection, and ninety-nine scrolls will be spreadout for him,each one extending as far as the eye can see. Then Allahwill say: "Doyou deny anything of this?" He will say: "No, OLord." He will say:"Have My recording scribes been unfair toyou?" Then He will say:"Apart from that, do you have any gooddeeds?" The man will beterrified and will say: "No." (Allah)will say: "Indeed, you have gooddeeds with Us, and you will not betreated unjustly this Day." Then acard will be brought out onwhich is written Ash-hadu an la ilahaillallah wa anna Muhammadan`abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness thatnone has the right to beworshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad isHis slave and Messenger).He will say: "O Lord, what is this cardcompared with thesescrolls?" He will say: "You will not be treatedunjustly." Thenthe scrolls will be placed in one side of the Balanceand the card inthe other. The scrolls will go up (i.e., be light) andthe card willgo down (i.e., will weigh heavily)."

"Ihave a Cistern, (as large as the distance) between the Ka'bahandBaitul-Maqdis (Jerusalem). (It is) whiter than milk, and itsvesselsare the number of the stars. I will be the Prophet with themostfollowers on the Day of Resurrection."

"MyCistern is wider than the distance between Ailah and `Aden.By theOne in Whose Hand is my soul, its vessels are more numerousthan thenumber of stars, and it is whiter than milk and sweeter thanhoney.By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I will drive men away fromit asa man drives strange camels away from his cistern." It was said:"OMessenger of Allah, will you recognize us?" He said: "Yes, youwillcome to me with radiant faces, hands and feet, because of thetracesof ablution, and this is not for anyone but you."

"Umar bin`Abdul-`Azizsent for me and I came to him upon the riding animalprepared forswift mail delivery. When I came to him, he said: `Wehave causedyou some trouble O Abu Sallam.' He said: `Yes, by Allah, OCommander of the Believers!' He said: `By Allah, we did not wanttocause you any hardship, but there is a Hadith which I have heardthatyou narrate from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah(Peach be upon him), concerning the Cistern, and I wanted to hear it directlyfromyou.' He said: "I said: `Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him), told me that the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) said: "MyCistern is (wider than) the distance between Ailah and`Aden. It iswhiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and its cupsare as many asthe stars in the sky. Whoever drinks from it willnever feel thirstagain. The first ones who come to drink from itwill be the poorMuhajirin, with dirty clothes and disheveled hair,who do not marryrefined women and for whom no doors are opened."`Umar wept until hisbeard became wet, then he said: `But I havemarried refined women anddoors have been opened for me. Hesaid:"You are my Companions. My brothers are those who will comeafter me.I will reach the Cistern ahead of you." They said: "OMessenger of Allah, how will you recognize those of your nation whohave not yetcome?" He said: "If a man has a horse with a blazeon its forehead andwhite feet, don't you think that he willrecognize it among horsesthat are deep black in color?" They said:"Of course." He said: "Onthe Day of Resurrection they willcome with radiant faces, hands, andfeet, because of the traces ofablution." He said: "I will reach theCistern ahead of you."Then he said: "Men will be driven away from myCistern just asstray camels are driven away. And I will call to them:`Come here!'But it will be said: `They changed after you were gone,and theykept turning on their heels.' So I will say: "Be off withyou!"

"Iam the leader of the sons of Adam, and it is no boast. I willbe thefirst one for whom the earth will be split open on the Day of Resurrection, and it is no boast. I will be the first to intercedeandthe first whose intercession will be accepted, and it is noboast. Thebanner of praise will be in my hand on the Day of Resurrection, and itis no boast."

"As for the people of Hell, who are its people (i.e., itspermanentresidents), they will neither die nor live therein. Butthere aresome people who will be punished with fire because of theirsins,whom it will kill, then when they have become like coal,permissionwill be granted for intercession for them. They will be brought,group by group, and scattered on the banks of the rivers ofParadise.It will be said: `O people of Paradise, pour water on them.'Thenthey will grow like seeds carried by a flood (i.e., quickly)." Aman among the people said: It is as if the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him)has been in the desert."

"The believers will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection,inspired or worried." - Sa'eed was not sure - "And theywill say: `If we seek someone to intercede for us with our Lord, wemay find relief from our situation.' So they will go to Adam andwill say: `You are Adam, the father of mankind. Allah created youwith His Hand and His angels prostrated to you. Intercede for us withyour Lord, that He might grant us relief from our situation.' Hewill say: `I am not the one,' and he will mention to them andcomplain of the sin that he committed. He will feel too shy to dothat (and will say): `Rather go to Nuh, for he is the firstMessenger whom Allah sent to the people of earth.' So they will goto him, but he will say: `I am not the one,' and he will mentionof how he asked of Allah that of which he had no knowledge.* He willfeel too shy to do that (and will say): `Rather go to the CloseFriend of the Most Merciful, Ibrahim.' So they will go to him andhe will say: `I am not the one. Rather go to Musa, a slave to whomAllah spoke and to whom He gave the Torah.' So they will go to himand he will say: `I am not the one,' and he will mention how hekilled a soul, not in retaliation for murder (and will say): `Rathergo to `Isa, the slave of Allah and His Messenger, the Word of Allahand a spirit created by Him.' So they will go to him, but he willsay: `I am not the one. Rather go to Muhammad, a slave whose pastand future sins Allah forgave.' So they will come to me and I willgo with them." - There was a similar report from Hasan who added(the Prophet (Peach be upon him) said:) And I will walk between two rows of thebelievers." Then he went back to the Hadith of Anas. - And hesaid: "And I will ask my Lord for permission and permission will begiven to me. When I see Him I will fall down prostrating, and I willbe left as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then it will be said:`Get up, O Muhammad. Speak, you will be heard; ask, you will begiven; intercede, your intercession will be accepted.' I willpraise Him with praise that He will teach me, then I will intercede,and a limit will be set. Then they will be admitted to Paradise, andI will come back a second time. When I see Him I will fall downprostrating, and I will be left as long as Allah wills to leave me.Then it will be said: `Get up, O Muhammad. Speak, you will beheard; ask, you will be given; intercede, your intercession will beaccepted.' I will praise Him with praise that He will teach me,then I will intercede, and a limit will be set. Then they will beadmitted to Paradise, and I will come back a third time. When I seeHim I will fall down prostrating, and I will be left as long as Allahwills to leave me. Then it will be said: `Get up, O Muhammad.Speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, yourintercession will be accepted.' I will praise Him with praise thatHe will teach me, then I will intercede, and a limit will be set.Then they will be admitted to Paradise, and I will come back a fourthtime and will say: `O Lord, there is no one left except those whoare detained by the Qur'an.'" **

"This fire of yours is one-seventieth part of the fire of Hell.Were it not that its heat has been reduced by water twice, you wouldnot have been able to benefit from it. And it is praying to Allah,asking Allah not to return it (to its original level of heat)."

"The Fire complained to its Lord and said: `O Lord, parts of mehave consumed other parts.' So He gave it two occasions to exhale,onein winter and one in summer. The intense cold that you feel (inwinter) is part of its severe frost (Zamharir) and the intense heatthat you feel in summer is part of its hot wind (Samum)."

"TheHell-Fire was kindled for one thousand years and turned white. Thenitwas kindled for another thousand years and it turned red. Then itwaskindled for another thousand years and it turned black. So it isblacklike the darkest night."

"On the Day of Resurrection the disbeliever who lived the mostluxurious will be brought, and it will be said: `Dip him once inHell.' So he will be dipped in it, then it will be said to him: `Oso-and-so, have you every enjoyed any pleasure?' He will say: `No,I havenever enjoyed any pleasure.' Then the believer who sufferedthe mosthardship and trouble will be brought and it will be said:`Dip himonce in Paradise.' So he will be dipped in it and itwill be said tohim: `O so-and-so, have you ever suffered anyhardship or trouble?' Hewill say: `I have never suffered anyhardship or trouble.'"

"The disbeliever will be made huge so much so that his molarwillbe bigger than (Mount) Uhud, and the size of his body in relationtohis molar will be like the size of the body of anyone of you inrelation to his molar."

"O you who believe! Have fear of Allah as is His due, and dienotexcept as Muslims. [3:102] (Then he said): `If a drop of Zaqqumwere to be dropped on the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of thepeople of this world, so how about those who have no food other thanit (i.e. Zaqqum)?'"

Then it will be said: "Do youknow what thisis?" They will say: "Yes, this is Death." Thenthe command will begiven for it to be slaughtered on the Sirat, andit will be said toboth groups: "It is eternal wherever you are,and there will never beany death therein."

By the Lord of the Ka'bah, it issparkling light, sweet basil waving in the breeze, a lofty palace, aflowing river, abundant ripe fruit, a beautiful wife and many finegarments, in a palace of eternal abode, in ease and luxury, inbeautiful, strongly-built, lofty houses.' They said: `We willstriveheard for it, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: `Say: Insha' Allah (ifAllah wills).' Then he mentioned Jihad andencouraged them to engagein it."

"The first group to enter Paradise will enter with (faces) likethemoon in the night when it is full. Then those who follow them willbeshining with a light brighter than the brightest star in the sky.They will not urinate or defecate, or blow their noses or spit. Theircombs will be of gold, their sweat will be musk, their braziers (receptacle for holding live coals for burning incense) willbe pearls and their wives will be houris. Their form will be that ofasingle man, the form of their father Adam, sixty forearm's lengthtall.'"

"Kauthar is a river in Paradise whose banks are of gold and itsbedis of rubies and pearls. Its soil is more fragrant than musk, itswater is sweeter than honey and whiter than snow."

"In Paradise there is a tree under whose shade a rider could travelfor one hundred years and never leave it.""Recite, if you wish: 'And in shade long-extended (56:30).'"

Sa'eedbin Al-Musayyab said that he met Abu Hurairah and Abu Hurairah said:

"I supplicate Allah to bring you and I together in the marketplaceof Paradise," Sa'eed said: "Is there a marketplace there?" Hesaid: "Yes. The Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) told me that when thepeople of Paradise enter it, they will take their places according totheir deeds, and they will be given permission for a length of timeequivalent to Friday on earth, when they will visit Allah. His Thronewill be shown to them and He will appear to them in one of thegardens of Paradise. Chairs of light and chairs of pearls and chairsof rubies and chairs of chrysolite and chairs of gold and chairs ofsilver will be placed for them. Those who are of a lower status thanthem, and none of them will be regarded as insignificant, will sit onsandhills of musk and camphor, and they will not feel that those whoare sitting on chairs are seated better than them."

Abu Hurairah said: "I said: `O Messenger of Allah, will we see our Lord?' He said: `Yes. Do you dispute that you see the sun and the moon on the night when it is full?' We said: `No.' He said: `Likewise, you will not dispute that you see your Lord, the Glorified. There will be no one left in that gathering with whom Allah does not speak face to face, until He will say to a man among you: "Do you not remember, O so-and-so, the day you did such and such?" And He will remind him of some of his sins in this world. He will say: "O Lord, have You not forgiven me?" He will say: "Yes, it is by the vastness of My forgiveness that You have reached the position you are in." While they are like that, a cloud will cover them from above and will rain down on them perfume the like of whose fragrance they have never smelled before. Then He will say: "Get up and go to the honor that has been prepared for you, and take whatever you desire." So we will go to a marketplace surrounded by the angels, in which there will be such things as eyes have never seen, ears have never heard and it has not entered the heart of man. Whatever we desire will be carried for us. Nothing will be bought or sold therein. In that marketplace the people of Paradise will meet one another. A man of elevated status will meet those who are of lower status than him, but none shall be regarded as insignificant, and he will be dazzled by the clothes that he sees on him. He will not finish the last of his conversation before better clothes appear on him. That is because no one should be sad there.'""He said: `Then we will go back to our homes where we will be met by our wives, and they will say: `Welcome. You have come looking more handsome and with a better fragrance than when you left us.' And we will say: `Today we sat with our Lord, the Compeller, the Glorified, and we deserve to come back as we have come back.'"

"There is no one whom Allah will admit to Paradise but Allahwillmarry him to seventy-two wives, two from houris and seventy fromhisinheritance from the people of Hell, all of whom will havedesirablefront passages and he will have a male member that neverbecomesflaccid (i.e., soft and limp).'"

"When the believer wants a child in Paradise, he willbeconceived and born and grown up, in a short while, according tohisdesire."

"I know the last of the people of Hell who will be brought forth from it, and the last of the people of Paradise to beadmitted to Paradise. (It is) a man who will emerge from Hellcrawling, and it will be said to him: `Go and enter Paradise.' Hewill come to it and it will be made to appear to him as if it is full.' Allah will say: `Go and enter Paradise.' He will come toit and it will appear to him as if it is full. So he will say: `OLord, I found it full.' Allah will say: `Go and enter Paradise.'He will come to it and it will be made to appear to him as if it is full. So he will say: `O Lord, I found it full.' Allah will say:`Go and enter Paradise, for you will have the like of the world andten times more, or you will have ten times the like of the world.'He will say: `Are You mocking me, or are You laughing at me, whenYou are the Sovereign?'"He said: "And I saw the Messenger of Allah (Peach be upon him) smiling so broadly that his molar teeth could be seen."And he used to say: "This is the lowest of the people of Paradise in status."

"Whoever asks for Paradise, three times, Paradise will say: "O Allah, admit him to Paradise." And whoever asked to be saved from Hell, three times, Hell will say: "O Allah, save him from Hell."
