The Valentinian Exposition is a gnostic document, a study of Valentinian liturgical readings.Much of the text teaches Valentinian sacraments such as baptism, redemption of the soul, and bridal chamber. The text also details God restoring the "spiritual seed" into heaven and the unity of the "spiritual seed" with the angels in pleroma.

The Nag Hammadi Library is a collection of 13 ancient books containing over 50 texts. This important discovery includes a number of primary "Gnostic Gospels" – texts which were assumed to have been destroyed during the early Christian conflicts.
