The Quran literally means 'the recitation'.

It is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God. It is widely regarded as the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language. Quranic chapters are called suras and verse ayahs.

Muslims believe the Quran was verbally revealed by God to Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel (Jibril), gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 AD when Muhammad was 40 and concluding in 632 AD, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Muhammad, a proof of his prophethood.

1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. Quran 56:1
2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; Quran 56:2
3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. Quran 56:3
4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. Quran 56:4
5 So that they will become floating dust particles. Quran 56:5
6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). Quran 56:6
7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). Quran 56:7
8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). Quran 56:8
9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). Quran 56:9
10 These will be those nearest to Allah. Quran 56:10
11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). Quran 56:11
12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). Quran 56:12
13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). Quran 56:13
14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, Quran 56:14
15 Reclining thereon, face to face. Quran 56:15
16 They will be served by immortal boys, Quran 56:16
17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, Quran 56:17
18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. Quran 56:18
19 And fruit; that they may choose. Quran 56:19
20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. Quran 56:20
21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), Quran 56:21
22 Like unto preserved pearls. Quran 56:22
23 A reward for what they used to do. Quran 56:23
24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). Quran 56:24
25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! Quran 56:25
26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? Quran 56:26
27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, Quran 56:27
28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, Quran 56:28
29 In shade long-extended, Quran 56:29
30 By water flowing constantly, Quran 56:30
31 And fruit in plenty, Quran 56:31
32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, Quran 56:32
33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. Quran 56:33
34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. Quran 56:34
35 And made them virgins. Quran 56:35
36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. Quran 56:36
37 For those on the Right Hand. Quran 56:37
38 A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). Quran 56:38
39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). Quran 56:39
40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? Quran 56:40
41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, Quran 56:41
42 And shadow of black smoke, Quran 56:42
43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, Quran 56:43
44 Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, Quran 56:44
45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) Quran 56:45
46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? Quran 56:46
47 "And also our forefathers?" Quran 56:47
48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. Quran 56:48
49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. Quran 56:49
50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! Quran 56:50
51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. Quran 56:51
52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, Quran 56:52
53 "And drink boiling water on top of it, Quran 56:53
54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" Quran 56:54
55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! Quran 56:55
56 We created you, then why do you believe not? Quran 56:56
57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. Quran 56:57
58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? Quran 56:58
59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, Quran 56:59
60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. Quran 56:60
61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? Quran 56:61
62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. Quran 56:62
63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? Quran 56:63
64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). Quran 56:64
65 (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] Quran 56:65
66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" Quran 56:66
67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. Quran 56:67
68 Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? Quran 56:68
69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? Quran 56:69
70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, Quran 56:70
71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? Quran 56:71
72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). Quran 56:72
73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. Quran 56:73
74 So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). Quran 56:74
75 And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. Quran 56:75
76 That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). Quran 56:76
77 In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). Quran 56:77
78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). Quran 56:78
79 A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). Quran 56:79
80 Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? Quran 56:80
81 And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! Quran 56:81
82 Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? Quran 56:82
83 And you at the moment are looking on, Quran 56:83
84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] Quran 56:84
85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) Quran 56:85
86 Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? Quran 56:86
87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), Quran 56:87
88 (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). Quran 56:88
89 And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, Quran 56:89
90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. Quran 56:90
91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), Quran 56:91
92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. Quran 56:92
93 And burning in Hell-fire. Quran 56:93
94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. Quran 56:94
95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. Quran 56:95
